The California Transit Association’s 2025 Spring Legislative Conference took place on May 8 at the Kimpton Sawyer Hotel in Sacramento. The annual conference brings together leaders from regional transportation agencies, the state legislature and the Administration for a day of collaboration and networking.
In 2025, panels included engagement with state legislators, administration officials, and stakeholders on the Association’s highest-priority legislative and regulatory efforts including the transit transformation taskforce, the upcoming revisions to the Governor’s budget, cap-and-trade reauthorization and updates at the federal level.
CalSTA Secretary Toks Omishakin spoke about the Agency’s Core Four priorities and the critical role transit plays in the state. Access a recording of his presentation here, and the presentation slide deck here.
Federal Transit Administration’s Region IX Administrator Ray Tellis spoke to the audience about the change in federal government and how leadership in Washington, DC is looking to engage with local transit moving forward.
The entire day’s slide deck can be found here.
