Association Co-Sponsored AB 463 (Hart) Clears Assembly Utilities and Energy Committee, AB 719 (Boerner-Horvath) Set for Hearing in Assembly Health Committee

On March 22, the Association co-sponsored AB 463 (Hart) cleared the Assembly Utilities and Energy Committee on a 14-0 bipartisan vote. This bill, which is co-sponsored by AC Transit, would establish priority access to electricity during planned outages to California transit agencies. This bill now heads to the Assembly Appropriations Committee.

Also, the Association co-sponsored AB 719 (Boerner-Horvath) has been set for a hearing on April 11 in the Assembly Health Committee. This bill, which is co-sponsored by San Diego MTS, would require Medi-Cal Managed Care Plans to reimburse public transit operators for nonmedical transportation and nonemergency medical transportation services.

Later this week, we will distribute a Legislative Bulletin to provide you with updated template support letters for these bills and to share critical updates on other legislation the Association is tracking.
