Building Understanding of Transit through Policies and Standards

May 7, 2014

This presentation explores how transit agencies can encourage clearer conversations among decision-makers about the real choices communities face. How do we balance the social service and ridership goals of transit?  How do we make sure that the standards we measure reflect what our community really wants?  This webinar looks at how policies and standards can build understanding and support around the real value of what we do.

The program features Jarrett Walker, an international transit consultant in network design and policy, as well as the author of “Human Transit: How Clearer Thinking About Public Transit Can Enrich Our Communities and Our Lives.”  He was also a featured speaker at California's Public and Community Transportation and Expo,  jointly hosted by the California Transit Association and the California Association for Coordinated Transportation in October, 2013 at the Disneyland Hotel in Anaheim.
