Thank you to everyone who joined us for the 57th Annual Fall Conference & Expo, hosted by Omnitrans, in Ontario, CA. This year’s theme – Adaptable. Sustainable. Equitable. – focused on the critical forces that must be in place to ensure a successful future for our industry.
Please save the date for next year's 58th Annual Fall Conference & Expo, hosted by Foothill Transit, on November 15-17, 2023, in Pasadena, CA.
We were delighted to hear from longtime sustainability leader, Vien Truong, one of the country’s foremost policy experts and strategists on building an equitable green economy. California Infrastructure Advisor Antonio Villaraigosa joined us at the Wednesday Evening Reception & Expo
to share his ideas and insights on rebuilding California’s transportation infrastructure for the next century.
Urban revitalization strategist and Peabody Award winning broadcaster, Majora Carter, closed the show with a special keynote address. Applying a talent-retention lens to all of her work, Carter is responsible for the creation and successful implementation of significant economic developments, technology and green-infrastructure projects, policies and job training and placement systems.
A timely plenary panel discussion on the Shifting Ground: Trends Impacting Public Transit’s Recovery and Long-Term Viability, featured Evelyn Blumenberg, Director, UCLA Lewis Center for Regional Policy
Studies (Moderator); Sarah Jepson, Director of Planning and Program, SCAG; Micah Weinberg, CEO, California Forward; and Lynn von Koch-Liebert, Executive Director, California Strategic Growth Council.
We were also pleased to celebrate outstanding individuals and agencies in the small operators’ space and hear a keynote address from Caltrans Director Tony Tavares about his vision for California’s transportation system.
