Fall Conference and Expo

The Fall Conference and Expo is our three-day signature event featuring dynamic presentations from industry experts on today’s pressing transit challenges and the novel solutions being implemented by innovative transit leaders. Expect an incredible learning experience through our educational breakout sessions, abundant opportunities to connect with transit colleagues and a robust exhibit of new products and services for the public transportation industry. Attended by nearly 700 transit professionals of all levels and more than 100 suppliers, this is the preeminent networking event of the season.

Make plans now to join us for our 54th Annual Fall Conference and Expo, taking place November 13-15, 2019 in Monterey.

The 2018 rendition took place October 24-26 at the Long Beach Convention Center.  The event featured two keynote presentations. Former Michigan Governor Jennifer Granholm discussed how electric driverless vehicles will lead to new industries, cleaner air, enhanced mobility, and a higher quality of life. Former Dallas Police Chef David Brown shared his message of outreach, accountability and inclusion that aims to help heal the wounds that divide so many communities today.

In addition, one of the conference’s three general sessions featured a panel of experts from across the transportation spectrum discussing the ways in which public transit must evolve in order to keep pace with the ongoing wave of new trends in mobility.

As always, highlights of the 53rd conference included the presentation of the annual Small Operators Awards, with the Transit Agency of the Year Award being presented to the Livermore Amador Valley Transit Authority, and the Transit Professional of the Year Award going to Art Ida of the City Culver City. The Transit Innovation Award was presented to San Joaquin Regional Transit District, and Karen King, CEO of the Golden Empire Transit District, was honored with the Distinguished Service Award.

Attendees also were treated to 20 educational sessions presented in tracks related to Maintenance; Management & Leadership; Operations; Marketing & Communications; and Fiscal, Planning, Policy & Compliance.

Many thanks to all the sponsors and exhibitors who helped to make the event such a success.  Thanks also to Long Beach Transit, who served as Host Agency while providing invaluable logistical help and volunteer support.
