Significant Historical Milestones

From 1975 to 1999, the City's dial-a-ride (Arcadia Transit) system maintained a contractual relationship with one agency, San Gabriel Transit, Inc. In 1999, due to changes in the U. S. Department of Transportation / Federal Transit Administration (FTA) Guidelines as well as in the public transit industry. Arcadia began bidding its public transit contracts at intervals of no greater than five years.

Major Planned Investments

The program is a general public dial-a-ride program to and from anywhere within the boundaries of the City of Arcadia. The City is currently studying the conversion to a combination of a Para-transit dial-a-ride and a fixed route general public program. The fixed route would incorporate the new Metro Gold Line Light Rail Station in Arcadia, planned to open in mid 2016.
