Webinars

To enhance member educational outreach, the California Transit Association hosted its first online, interactive forum (or "webinar") in April of 2008.   In that inaugural webinar, Executive Director Joshua Shaw provided a primer on "How State Transit Funding Works," detailing the many programs and formulas that comprise state funding for public transit.

Subsequent webinars have focused on "Climate Change and Transit: What the Fight Against Global Warming Means to Public Transportation in California"  (in September, 2008) and "Transit Operations & the CHP: The Successful Annual Terminal Inspection" (April, 2009).

The Association continues to offer webinars twice each year, in April and September.  These forums provide an opportunity for members to get detailed reports on issues of concern to public transit providers and suppliers in a real-time, interactive setting.  Participation in webinars is limited to members of the California Transit Association.
